Smaller and emerging tourism destinations, operators and businesses generally get left behind in the marketing mix. I specialise in analysing the product, and then developing marketing strategies for your area or business
 I have some 25 years experience in the tourism industry; developing markets and strategies and launching new tourism products, and have worked in Switzerland, South Africa and Australia, undergoing formal training in various tourism related fields including airline management. Here in Perth, I opened the Icon Group Services offices in 1993, and amongst others was responsible for the launch of Emirates Airlines in WA 1994.
In 2000 I undertook to develop and market tourism to Mundaring in the Perth Hills; introducing business and marketing strategies that have proved enormously successful. Visitor numbers have more than trebled in that time; and the number of operators has increased twofold. Tourism is now the major economic driver in the Shire.
The Perth Hills Wine Show became a client in 2003 and is now the main promotional event for its vignerons, and in 2006 I took on the marketing of the Perth Hills Wine Region as a whole. The region’s profile is steadily increasing and it is becoming well known for its boutique wineries and quality product and a new series of GOOD TASTE evenings has been successfully introduced.
Small event management was added to our range of services in late 2006. These clients included the extremely successful Mundaring Truffle Festival in 2007, and several exciting new events for 2008!
My business offers a professional and courteous service in the fields of destination marketing, tourism development and small event management. I specialise in working with small to medium operators, business groupings, local governments, and tourism associations to develop and market their products.
